Papua Whale Shark Project

Dave is now flying to Papua to prepare the visit of the first group of dive tourist, but also to start the Papua whale shark project. We are delighted that the first funding to begin with this project was made possible with a generous donation we received from Intan Media Service from Germany. The owner of Intan, her Gisbert Komlossy, heard about the whale sharks being under threat and wanted to help straight away.

Generating income by Whale watching & diving seems to be the way forward for the local fishermen, but we expect it to be some time before sufficient tourists come and visit the area. In the meantime we will have the local fishermen earning enough with research & protection tasks of these magnificent creatures.  More coming up as soon when Dave get back from Papua (second week of April).

Scubasigns at Asian Dive Expo in Singapore

Dave will be representing Scubasigns as one of the key note speakers at the Annual Adex in Singapore from 9 to 11 april.

Staged annually, ADEX is the region’s longest running dive show (turning sweet 16 in 2010) and a must-attend event on the international dive calendar!
